Piquing our interest for the first time just a matter of weeks ago with their surreal collaboration with Stereolab's Laetitia Sadier 'Until Now All Is Well', London-based collective The Nix are a constantly evolving supergroup of sorts based out of Nick McCarthy (ex Franz Ferdinand) and Seb Kellig's Sausage Studios. Returning with another exciting collaborating featuring vocals by Vula Malinga, 'Shoemonk' is another joyous offering from their functionally-titled debut album Sausage Studio Sessions. Combining off-kilter rhythms with rich percussion, layered vocals and Broadcast-inspired synth sounds, the light-hearted lyrics are the key to the feel good nature of this track. Arriving alongside a colourful video created by artist Jim Parkyn, 'Shoemonk' is a vibrant and uplifting release that's left us eager to hear more from this unusual yet brilliant bunch. Sausage Studio Sessions will be released by Moshi Moshi on Friday the 30th of October. -Holly Mullineaux
